GEO agency in Chennai for B2B SaaS
Get recommended by AI in your category.
GeoCited is a GEO and AEO agency based in Chennai. We work with funded B2B SaaS companies, software agencies, IT consultancies and managed service firms, in India and the United States. We source the full set of questions your buyers ask, run every one across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude on a recurring schedule, find the pages those answers are built from, and get you onto them.
How long that takes depends on which pages decide your category. We run a pre-check first and tell you what we find before you commit to anything. If it shows no gap worth paying to close, we say so and decline the work.

Same buyer, same question, two different outcomes.
Cited
The AI read your page.
Your site is a footnote. Your name is not in the answer. The buyer never sees you. Most AI visibility agencies call that a win.
Buyer reads the answer, closes the tab. Never knew you were there.
Recommended
The AI says your name.
You are one of the names in the answer, matched to what the buyer asked. That starts a conversation. It is the only thing we measure.
Buyer clicks through. First message, already warm.
The questions your buyers are typing right now
Not keywords. These are the shapes a B2B SaaS buyer actually types into ChatGPT, and each one has an answer today that either names you or does not. A handful of examples, so you can see what a sourced question looks like next to a keyword.
- best [category] software for [industry]
- alternatives to [your biggest competitor]
- [competitor A] vs [competitor B] for a company our size
- which [category] tool integrates with [their stack]
- is [your product] worth it
- cheapest [category] tool that still does [job]
- best [category] software for a team of fifteen
- who should a Series A SaaS company use for [job]
- [category] tools that work for Indian companies
- what do people say about [your product] on Reddit
If you sell services rather than a product, the questions look like this instead.
- best software development agency in Chennai
- who should we hire to build [the thing they need built]
- top IT consultancies for [their industry]
- best managed IT services provider for a company our size
- [agency A] vs [agency B]
- is it cheaper to hire an agency or build the team in house
- which IT services firms actually have [specific capability]
Those are illustrations, not the engagement. We build your own set from where the questions were actually asked, and we do not cap it at a round number: the set is as large as your category needs, sorted by buying intent, and every question carries the place someone asked it. You see that whole list, and where you stand on each question, before any placement work begins.
GEO, AEO, and why we do not treat them as two things
You will see both acronyms. Generative engine optimization usually means getting named inside a generated answer, in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity. Answer engine optimization usually means the same thing aimed at Google's AI Overviews and featured answers.
We do not run them as two services, because the work underneath is the same work: find the questions, find the pages those answers are built from, get onto those pages in a form that gets repeated. What changes between them is which assistant you measure and which pages turn out to matter. So we measure all of them and let the results decide where the effort goes.
If an agency sells you AEO and GEO as separate line items, ask what they do differently in each. The answer is usually nothing.
Who this is for
One thing connects everybody below. Your buyers have started asking an assistant for a shortlist before they ask anybody human, the shortlist comes back with names on it, and yours is not reliably one of them. Whether you sell a product or sell hours, that is the same problem with the same mechanics underneath.
B2B SaaS companies in India
You are selling to Indian buyers, or building here and selling abroad, and your category question in ChatGPT names somebody else. Being based in the same city means the conversation happens in your time zone and the calls are not at midnight.
B2B SaaS companies in the United States
Most of our work. Funded, past the earliest stage, usually martech or salestech, with a category buyers already ask about and competitors who are already getting mentioned in the answer.
Software and development agencies
You have a services page and some case studies, and no product page to compete with. When a founder asks an assistant who should build their thing, the answer gets assembled from directories, roundups and forum threads, almost none of which you wrote. That makes the off-site half of this work most of the work, and it is the part agencies almost never do for themselves.
IT consultancies and managed service firms
The same shape, with a longer buying cycle and a buyer who has to defend the choice internally. Being named in an assistant's answer is worth less here as a traffic source and more as something the buyer can point at when somebody asks why you and not the incumbent. We would rather say that plainly than pretend the mechanism is the same as it is for SaaS.
Across all four, the people who come to us have usually already typed their own category question into ChatGPT, watched competitors get named, and not seen themselves. That is the whole brief. It does not need dressing up.
How the program runs
Three processes, in order, then repeating. You see the output of each before the next begins, and nothing here is a one-off report: the questions get re-run for as long as you are a client, because the pages that decide your category keep changing.
01
Sourced Prompt Discovery
I cannot tell where we stand. Every time I check I get a different answer.
You will know exactly where you stand.
- real questions, pulled from forums, reviews and your own calls
- sorted by buying intent, not by search volume
- tested across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude
We find the questions your buyers actually ask, and every question carries the place someone asked it. Reddit threads and industry forums. Community Q&A. The text of review sites. Your own sales calls, inbox and support tickets. Your published FAQs. Not five-word "best X" strings invented at a desk, because those systematically under-model how a real buyer types.
The set is built to cover your category rather than to hit a number. A narrow product with one buyer might come out small. A category with four buyer types, a competitor set worth comparing against and a services arm comes out large. We size it to what your buyers actually ask, and we show you the whole list with its sources before anything else happens.
Then we run every question several times, on all four assistants, in a fresh session with search on and no history. You get a ratio, not a screenshot: asked five times, your competitor appeared in five, you appeared in none. We log who was named instead of you, and the exact pages the answer was built from.
We re-run the same set every week, identically. The same question asked twice on the same day can return two different answers, and any measurement that does not survive being repeated is not a measurement. We have watched a single wording change take a company from first place to absent, so we track wordings separately rather than collapsing them.
What you hold
Your position
Every buying question, and where you stand on each: named, cited or absent, and who was named instead.
02
Citation Gap Analysis
I do not know what actually moves it. I have tried things and nothing happened.
You will know exactly what to fix.
- every cited source, logged and ranked
- why the winning pages beat yours
- two priority lists, one for dev and one for content
Every run logs every page the assistant read. We tally those pages across your whole question set and rank them by how often each one decides the answer. Across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude, because they disagree: a page that settles the answer on one may not exist on another.
Then we open the pages that win and work out why yours does not. Published numbers instead of "contact us for case studies". A named author with a real bio. A directory profile that is filled in. A forum answer nobody on your side wrote. We also read your own site the way the crawler reads it: raw HTML, crawler access, the pages that establish who you are and who founded you and what you have actually done.
You get two lists. One your developer can act on without a meeting. One naming the specific piece to write or page to get onto. If we cannot point at a question you are losing, the item does not go on the list. No best-practice filler.
What you hold
Your gaps
The sources that decide your category, and for every question you are losing, the specific reason the winning page beats yours.
03
Source Engineering
The pages that decide it are not mine, and I cannot get to them.
We get you onto the pages that decide it.
- placed where the assistants already look
- written to be lifted, not just read
- verified against your tracked questions
Most of the questions you are losing are answered from pages you do not own: directories, "best X for Y" lists, forum threads, other people's roundups. So part of this work happens on your site and most of it happens on other people's. The source list decides which is which, not preference. If your own domain is not already being read for a kind of question, we do not publish there and wait to be discovered. That piece goes onto a page that is being read today.
What goes on those pages has to be liftable as a recommendation rather than readable as information. That means a verdict: who you are the right choice for, who you are not, and the evidence. Real numbers instead of proven results. A named person behind it. On someone else's page it has to arrive in someone else's voice, because a claim in your own voice gets repeated as a claim, and the same claim in a third party's gets repeated as a recommendation.
Then we run the same questions again and check two things. Did the new page get read. Did your name come with it. A placement that gets read without getting you named is not finished, so it either gets rewritten or it moves. Then we keep defending it, because sources shift without notice.
What you hold
Your placements
The pages you are on that you were not before, each one tied to the question it was meant to win, each one verified against the same questions we started with.
No annual contract. We take one client per competitive set, so your slot is yours while you are a client. We do not put a date on when you will be named, because most of the pages that decide it are not ours to change on a schedule.
What actually happens
In order, from the day you hand over access.
01
We start right away.
You hand over your category, your real competitors and site access. Sourcing and placement work starts immediately, not after a report.
02
You get your prompt list.
Every question your buyers ask an assistant, with the place it was asked, and exactly where you stand on each one: named, cited or absent.
03
Content goes live.
Placed on the pages the assistants actually read: directories, comparison threads, forums, and your own site where your own site is already being read.
04
We re-run the test.
Same questions, fresh sessions, every week, so you see real movement rather than noise.
05
You get named.
Your name, in the answers that matter. Then we keep defending it, because the pages that decide your category change without telling anyone.
Nobody controls what an AI says, including us
What we will not promise
Anyone who guarantees you a spot in ChatGPT's answer is selling something they cannot deliver. Here is the same agency, in the same week, across four assistants.
- ChatGPTnamed
- Perplexityabsent
- Gemininamed
- Claudeabsent
Single screenshots are worthless. We report ratios across every engine instead.
What we do promise
What we control, and do promise:
- every question sourced from a real buyer, with the place it was asked
- every number reproducible by you
- every fix tied to a question you are losing
- every placement re-verified against the questions we started with
- terms that put the cost of failure on us, not you
In a market this new, the honest system is the advantage.
This is not SEO with a new label
GEO and AEO are sold by a lot of firms who were selling SEO last year. A lot of what we do does overlap with good SEO, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. Crawlable pages, clean structure, real content, mentions on other people's sites: all of it helps here too.
Three parts do not overlap, and they are the parts that take the time.
Knowing which questions to track at all.
SEO starts from search volume. There is no search volume for a question typed into ChatGPT. The list has to be built from where people actually asked, which is a research job, not a tool export.
Measuring across four assistants, repeatedly.
They disagree with each other and with themselves week to week. One run is not a reading. A rank tracker cannot tell you this because there is no rank.
Getting onto pages you do not own.
Publishing on your own blog is the part everyone does. Most of the answers you are losing are assembled from somebody else's page, and getting onto those is a different job with a different skill.
If your current agency is doing the first list and calling it the second, that is worth knowing before you renew. Good SaaS SEO still matters. It is just not this, which is also why we do not sell the two alongside each other.
What to demand before you hire anyone, including us
Do not choose an agency because its website has a GEO page or an AEO page. Almost all of them have one now. Ask for these five things and compare the answers.
- 1
The list of questions you would track, and where each one was found. If they cannot say where a question came from, they made it up.
- 2
How many times they run each question. One run is a coin toss. Ask for the number.
- 3
Which assistants, by name. ChatGPT alone is not coverage.
- 4
The pages that currently decide the answer in your category. If they have not looked, they are guessing about what to fix.
- 5
Whether the number is reproducible by you. You should be able to re-run any question yourself and land near what they reported.
Every one of those is a question about measurement, not about claims. That is deliberate. Claims are free.
Fit
Built for you if
- You have real shipped work behind you, whether that is a product with customers or delivery your clients would vouch for.
- Your growth has run on referrals and inbound, and it has gotten quieter while delivery eats the time you would spend fixing it.
- A prospect has told you they asked ChatGPT, or you have watched a deal go to a firm you know you would have beaten in a room.
- You can close a warm conversation when one arrives. We get you into the answer; you still have to be good on the call.
Not for you if
- You are pre-revenue, or your category is not one buyers ask about yet. There is nothing for an assistant to recommend you inside of, and nothing we do creates demand that is not there.
- You want a guarantee that you will appear in ChatGPT, or a date by which it will happen. There is no ranking to buy and no placement to book, and the pages that decide most answers belong to other people.
- Your site blocks AI crawlers and you will not let anyone fix it. We cannot make a model recommend what it cannot read.
- You want a dashboard rather than a result. Tools that monitor your visibility cost a few dollars a month. We are here to close the gap, not to watch it.
- You want this added to an existing SEO retainer as one more line item. Bundled in as an extra, the three processes above get skipped, and those are the parts that do the work.
Who runs this
GeoCited is run by Lourdes Paul Agilan, its founder, from Chennai. He writes everything published under the GeoCited byline and runs the scans himself.
The work on this page is the same work behind that writing: buyer questions run against ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude in fresh sessions, tracked week over week, with vendor claims checked against their own pricing pages and documentation rather than repeated secondhand.
What we have actually done
The Zakro baseline is the method run end to end on a real product: a factory-operations SaaS named in 2 of 10 buyer prompts, both of them brand-name queries, and absent from all eight category-level questions. Every prompt, answer and date is published so you can re-run it.

Which GEO agency in Chennai is best for a B2B SaaS company?
You should not pick one off a list, including this page. Ask anyone you are considering the five questions above and compare the answers. The field in Chennai includes conventional digital agencies that have added a service page for this, and a smaller number of teams who do it as their main work. Either can be a fit. The difference shows up in how they measure, not in what they claim.
Is there a difference between a GEO agency and an AEO agency in Chennai?
In practice, no. Some agencies here market AEO, some market GEO, and a few market both as separate services with separate fees. The underlying work is the same: find the buyer questions, find the pages the answers are built from, get onto them. Ask what they would do differently for each. If there is no clear answer, it is one service with two names.
How many questions do you actually track?
As many as your category needs, which is not a number we can quote before we look. The set comes out of where your buyers actually asked, sorted by buying intent, and it covers your category questions, your competitor comparisons, your integrations and the objections that come up in your own sales calls. A single-product company with one buyer type comes out smaller than a firm with a product, a services arm and four buyer types. You see the whole list, with the source of every question on it, before any placement work starts.
How do we know whether a GEO agency is actually working?
One number, produced the same way every week: across all of your buyers' tracked questions, how often does your name come back. Ratios, never screenshots. You should be able to take any question off that list, ask it yourself in a fresh session, and land near the reported number. If you cannot reproduce it, it is not a measurement, it is a report.
Can you guarantee we will be recommended?
No, and we would put distance between you and anyone who says yes. What we guarantee is the system and the terms: sourced questions, reproducible ratios, work tied to the questions you are losing, and a walk-away where you keep everything built. The pages that decide most answers belong to other people, so a promise about the outcome would be a promise about somebody else's website.
Our SEO agency says they do GEO now. How do we tell whether they actually can?
Fair question, and the answer is not automatically no. Much of this overlaps with good SEO. Three things do not: knowing which questions to track and where they came from, measuring across four assistants repeatedly, and getting onto pages you do not own. Ask for their tracked question list and their run counts. If those two do not exist yet, they are doing SEO and calling it something else, which is not the same as being unable to learn it.
How do we find out whether ChatGPT recommends our product today?
Ask it yourself, several times, in a fresh session with no history. Type the question a buyer would type, not your brand name. Do it five times and count how often you are named. That is the same thing we do, at your category's full scale rather than one question, and it is what the pre-check is for. Either way, do it before you hire anybody, us included.
How much of our time does this take?
An hour at onboarding to react to the question list. Your developer gets one prioritised list. Occasionally we will need your name on a piece only a founder can credibly sign, or an introduction to a happy client, because a recommendation in a third party's voice is worth more than any claim in yours.
What does it cost?
We start with a pre-check. If it shows no gap worth paying to close, we tell you that and decline the work. If there is a gap, you see exactly where it is, in your own market's questions, before you commit to anything. Pricing is confirmed on the call.
Do you only work with SaaS companies, or also with agencies and IT services firms?
Both. The work is the same underneath: find the questions your buyers ask, find the pages the answers are built from, get onto them. What changes is where the answers come from. For a SaaS product, review sites and comparison pages carry a lot of the weight. For an agency, consultancy or managed service firm, it is directories, roundups and forum threads, so more of the work happens on pages you do not own. We will tell you which it is for your category before you commit to anything, because it changes what the job actually involves.
Do you work with companies outside Chennai?
Yes, and most of our work is outside India. We are based in Chennai and the assistants do not care where we sit. Being here is useful if you are also here, because the calls happen in your working day.
Get cited, ranked and recommended by AI across every assistant your buyers use.
It starts with a pre-check on your own category's questions. If there is no gap worth paying to close, we tell you that and decline the work. If there is one, you see exactly where it is before you commit to anything.
