AI SEO Services for MSPs

Get named when a business owner asks an AI which MSP to hire.

Cited means a model read your page. Recommended means the model said your MSP name back when a business owner asked who to hire. We work on the second one.

We sell this and nothing else. No SEO retainer, no Google Business Profile management, no link building. If you want the whole marketing stack, we are the wrong firm and we will say so on the call.

What AI SEO for MSPs actually means

AI SEO for MSPs, also called generative engine optimization or GEO, is the work of getting your managed service provider business named when a business owner asks an AI which MSP to hire.

Throughout this page, MSP and managed service provider mean the same thing, and you means your MSP. Business owner means the person deciding which MSP to hire.

The systems that decide it are ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude.

A model does not evaluate MSPs. It reads pages that already list them, then repeats what those pages say. So the work splits in two: what your own site says about you, and what other people's pages say about you.

MSP is not one question

No business owner asks an AI for the best MSP. They ask for the best MSP for something.

That something changes everything. The size of their company. Their industry. The compliance rule they are under. The technology they run. Whether they already employ an internal sysadmin. Whether they are leaving an MSP they can name. Each combination returns a different set of MSP names, decided by a different set of pages.

A healthcare firm in Dallas with forty staff and a HIPAA problem is asking a different question from a manufacturer moving to SOC 2, and the two answers have almost nothing in common.

And the questions do not hold still

A new compliance deadline lands and a whole family of questions arrives with it. Microsoft changes its licensing and the questions change with it. A competing MSP launches a new service and its name starts appearing in questions that never carried a company name before.

So there is no finished list. Any agency that hands you a fixed set of prompts and calls the job done has mistaken a snapshot for the work.

We proved this on ourselves

We put geocited.io live on 19 July 2026. Six weeks later we ran our own brand through ChatGPT 18 times, across eight phrasings of the same question, in temporary chats with search switched on. It named us in 4 of the 18.

In the same week, a research article we published on that six-week-old domain, which had 7 referring domains and no indexed blog articles, was crawled 90 minutes after we requested indexing, ranked first for its target query the next morning, and entered the Google AI Overview source pool the same day.

On the phrasing "best GEO agency in Chennai for B2B SaaS" we appeared in 4 runs out of 7, and every time we appeared we came first. Reorder the same words to "best geo agency for b2b saas chennai" and we appeared in 0 out of 5. The six other phrasings of the same intent returned nothing at all.

Same company. Same question. Different word order. Nothing else changed.

We found the mirror image at a client. Zakro, a factory operations platform, was cited on both prompts that used its name and on none of the eight that described the problem instead of naming the product. Known by name, invisible by category. For an MSP that is the difference between winning the people who already heard of you and winning the people who did not.

The wider evidence

SparkToro tested 2,961 prompts with 600 volunteers across ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI. They found less than a one in one hundred chance of getting the same brand list back in any two responses.

Profound measured citation drift month over month and recorded very large changes in which domains got cited, for identical prompts.

Researchers at the University of St. Gallen compared 4,044 consecutive-day source pairs across four engines and found about 35% of cited sources repeat two days running.

Neil Patel puts the practical version plainly: prompt volume is a modelled estimate, not actual user data. Choosing what to track by estimated volume means optimising for a number nobody has measured.

What that means for how we work

We do not sell you a fixed list. We build your prompt space from the combinations that matter in your market, run it repeatedly across four engines, and keep adding to it as the questions in the MSP market change. When a new compliance rule or a competing MSP changes what business owners ask, the set changes that week.

You see the whole set, always. You can run any of it yourself, any time.

What we do

Sourced Prompt Discovery

The problem: I cannot tell where we stand. Every time I check I get a different answer.

We build your prompt space from the combinations above, using the industries you serve, the areas you cover and the services you sell, then run it repeatedly in fresh sessions across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude. The result is recorded as a ratio, not a screenshot. Asked the same question repeatedly, a competing MSP was named every time and yours was never named.

What you hold: your position. Every buying question, and where you stand on each. Named, cited or absent, and who was named instead.

Citation Gap Analysis

The problem: I do not know what actually moves it. I have tried things and nothing happened.

Every run logs every source the model cited. We tally them by site and by exact page and rank them by how often they decide the answer. Then we work out why those pages win and yours does not.

In MSP answers the same handful of sources keep appearing. Industry listicles, MSP directories, comparison sites and a small number of community threads. We name the specific pages deciding the answers in the areas you cover and the services you sell.

What you hold: your gaps. The sources that decide your category, and for every question you are losing, the specific reason the winning page beats yours.

Source Engineering

Getting your MSP onto the pages these models already trust, written so a model will repeat it.

The problem: the pages that decide these answers are not mine, and I cannot get onto them.

We split the work between what belongs on your site and what has to live on someone else's. We write it so it can be lifted as a recommendation rather than read as information, place it, then re-run your questions to check it is being used. If it is not picked up within a run cycle, it moves.

What you hold: your placements. The pages you are now on that you were not before, each tied to the question it was meant to win.

What we do not do

Ask an AI what to demand from an MSP marketing agency and it will hand you a list of nine things. Local SEO, service and location pages, technical SEO, topical authority, digital PR and link building, Google Business Profile, GEO and AEO, AI citation tracking, and revenue reporting.

We do two of them. GEO and AEO, and the citation tracking underneath it.

We do not run your local SEO. We do not manage your Google Business Profile. We do not build links. We do not write your blog on a content calendar. We do not report on closed revenue, because AI answers do not pass a referrer and any agency claiming that attribution is guessing.

If you need all nine, hire Jumpfactor, TSL Marketing or NUOPTIMA. They are good at it and they sell the whole stack.

Hire us when you already have someone doing the other seven and nobody doing this one.

Where MSPs stand on AI search right now

We read 524 verified client reviews on Clutch, every one a real engagement with a disclosed budget. Three of those 524 buyers were MSPs. None of the three bought AI search work. They bought SEO, Google Ads and PR.

MSPs are early to AI search. Earlier than software firms, earlier than marketing agencies, earlier than consultancies.

That cuts both ways. There is less proof that AI search work pays off for MSPs than for other industries. There are also very few MSPs defending these answers, so the slots are open.

Anyone telling you the category is on fire and you are already late is selling. We would rather give you the count.

AI SEO for MSPs: questions we get asked

Do business owners actually use AI to choose an MSP?

Some do, and the number is rising. We will not hand you a percentage we cannot source. What we can tell you is that across the 524 reviews we analysed, 37 of the 45 AI search purchases in every industry happened in 2026. The buying behaviour changed inside the last year.

Is my local SEO wasted?

No. Keep it, and keep whoever runs it. The overlap is shrinking though. Ahrefs measured the share of AI Overview citations coming from Google top-10 pages falling from 76% to 38% between July 2025 and March 2026.

How is this different from Jumpfactor or TSL?

They sell the full marketing stack for MSPs and treat AI search as one part of that stack. We sell only the AI search layer and publish the number we move. If you want one vendor handling everything, they are the better fit.

Does an llms.txt file help?

Not measurably. SE Ranking tested about 300,000 domains and found no effect on citation frequency. We will add one because it is free. It is not the work.

How many prompts do you test?

As many as your category needs, and the number moves. We build the set around your verticals, geography, compliance requirements and service mix, then keep adding as the questions change. Anyone quoting you a fixed number is selling a snapshot. You see the whole set and can run any of it yourself.

Why does the answer change every time I check?

Because it does, for everyone, including us. We ran our own brand through ChatGPT 18 times across eight phrasings of the same question and it named us in 4. One phrasing got us named in 4 runs out of 7, always first. Reordering the same words got us 0 out of 5. One check is noise, which is why we run repeatedly and report the trend.

Why should I believe a Chennai agency about the US MSP market?

You should not, on faith. Book the call below and check what we show you against what you already know about your competitors.

What if it does not work?

No movement in tracked Share of Answer by day 90 and month three is free. Cancel inside 30 days and keep everything.
